What's New in 2008

A 5K walk will be held in conjunction with the 5K race and will help raise money for the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut Foundation, whose mission is to promote initiatives that enhance and enrich education and economic opportunities in the Chamber’s service area.

Also new in 2008, the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut Health Care Council will be organizing a fitness expo with health screenings.

Certified Course

The certified 1/2 Marathon course features 2 mostly flat loops with one small hill in each. It runs through the picturesque Rocky Neck State Park and into Giants Neck and includes scenic views of Long Island Sound. There will be many aid stations throughout the course as well as mile markers and split times available at every mile. ChampionChip Timing will be used.

5K Course

The certified course is mostly flat and will be run entirely in Rocky Neck State Park. ChampionChip Timing will be used. No 5K runners will be allowed to leave Rocky Neck State Park until 10:50 a.m.
